An exciting new Aspire offering: dash cams

In response to customer requests—and thanks to our partnership with FleetSharp—Aspire is excited to announce our latest product offering: Dash cams. Through the use of dash cams, you can now monitor the safety of your crews while also protecting your fleet of vehicles.

What does this mean?

The use of dash cams offers an additional level of crew accountability by allowing you to confirm that drivers are practicing safe driving habits and avoiding distracted driving. Even better, when an accident or break in occurs, you can provide the captured video to police and insurance for verification purposes.

How does it work?

Once installed, dash cams record up to 45 rolling hours of engine-on time. The units’ 4G LTE connectivity allows you to view live video at any time, and all recorded footage is uploaded to the cloud where it’s accessible directly from the FleetSharp portal.

Dash cams also automatically generate video clips in the event of collision or broken glass—or in response to other custom parameters that you set, such as speeding, harsh braking, or geo fences. When a dash cam is activated by these events, 20 seconds of video (10 seconds before the incident and 10 seconds after) is captured and uploaded to the cloud.

All video footage, including snapshots and clips generated by alerts, is easily accessible for review by clicking the dash cam icon in the tracker list of FleetSharp and making a selection. Recordings that you save to the video library are available for viewing or download for 60 days.

Additional features

24/7 securityUnlike other dash cams, FleetSharp units protect your vehicles even when they are unoccupied. Within minutes of the ignition being turned off, the dash cam units automatically enter ‘closed guard’ mode. If movement or breaking glass is detected, the camera’s LED lights light up the vehicle interior and begin recording.

Hands-free activationSimply say “Okay, presto” to record a short video clip (10 seconds before and 10 seconds after) to capture incidents that would not normally trigger an alert in the system, such as being cut off by another vehicle.

Internal and external recordingDash cam units capture video not only from outside the vehicle but also inside to help crack down on distracted driving that can lead to accidents.

Incident mappingWhen a video is captured, the system automatically generates the incident’s location on the map via the FleetSharp GPS tracker as well as noting the video’s expiration date for your reference.
